Getting started: TechnicalBasic web chat is simpler. A useful local helper needs a model, folder permissions and tools; recurring local work needs the computer and Letta process to stay on. Our setup guide, not a performance score.

Browser and command-line access. The old Electron desktop app stopped running on 12 October 2026; the current desktop option installs the web app. No official native iOS or Android app is documented.

Free plan
Hosted Free allows three agents, 5 MiB per memory repository and limited Letta Auto. Exact model requests are unpublished. Free local Apache 2.0 software needs your own model and computer. Pricing reserves remote sandboxes for Pro although the web quickstart defaults to one; Free hosted execution eligibility is unclear.
Free trial
No separate timed trial, card requirement or automatic trial conversion confirmed. The ongoing Free plan is not a timed trial.
Paid plans
Personal Pro is $20/month: up to 20 agents, 50 MiB per memory repository and weekly/monthly Auto quotas, numeric ceilings unpublished. Teams Pro $20/seat/month; Enterprise quoted. Full annual bills and minimum seats unconfirmed.
Extra costs & limits
Optional pay-as-you-go credits and configurable auto top-up can add charges. Default, credit expiry, renewal/cancellation rules and cash ceiling unconfirmed. Own model keys bill through their provider. Separate API plan $20/month plus $0.10/active agent/month, $0.00015/second tool execution and model usage; not a mandatory personal add-on.

Pro

$20 / month

Up to 20 stateful agents and 50 MiB per memory repository. Includes weekly and monthly Letta Auto allowances and remote sandboxes. Numeric model allowances and sandbox running limits are not published. This is a subscription, not unlimited work.

The ongoing Free plan is separate from a trial. We could not confirm a general trial duration, card requirement or automatic trial conversion.

Extra model usage

Paid credits or your provider bill

After included Auto limits, you can buy credits for pay-as-you-go use and configure auto top-up. Its default, trigger amounts, credit expiry and a universal cash cap were not confirmed. Own model keys bill through that provider instead of Letta credits.

Local software

Free Apache 2.0 software

Run the local agent without a Letta account. Bring a model and your own computer. Hosted model use, tool services and hardware can cost extra. Local agents are not automatically backed up or available in the hosted chat.

Teams and developers

Different offers

Teams Pro is $20 per seat/month. Enterprise is quoted. The separate API plan is $20/month plus $0.10 per active agent/month, $0.00015 per second of tool execution and model usage. These API rates are not an extra mandatory personal subscription.

Annual billing and renewal

Check the actual offer

A full annual bill, minimum team seats, personal subscription renewal/cancellation rules and card requirements were not established on the reviewed public pages. Check these before upgrading.

Open the web app and meet Tutor, or install the CLI. Current setup docs require Node.js 22.19 or later; the homepage install panel still says 18+. Follow the current setup docs. Hosted memory remains in Letta Cloud even when tools run on your laptop.

Founder account and community use. Letta co-founder Sarah Wooders describes using her personal agent Draft to triage email, prepare replies and query work data with custom skills. She gave it draft-only email access. This is her configured workflow, not a ready-made inbox connection. An October community report describes actual scheduled local-file work failing in version 0.34.15; a contributor says 0.34.16 should fix that stall. We did not retest it or measure reliability.

The terms name Letta Inc.; the current homepage locates the lab in San Francisco. This is company base, not founder nationality or where your agent state and model prompts are processed.
