How rankings work
Rankings come from chart positions, not downloads. In every country and store we track, #1 gets full points, lower spots get fewer, and outside the top chart gets none. App Store top 100 and Google Play top 200 are scaled so #1 counts the same in both.
Bigger markets count more, but not in proportion: a country with 4× the internet users counts 2×.
If an app isn't available in a country it gets zero there, so apps that chart in many countries rank higher. Updates where a store's chart failed to load are left out, not counted against anyone. The score is our own index (0–100), not an official chart.
