Augment Code.

Build and review code with Cosmos and Auggie.

Augment Code brings Cosmos, the Auggie terminal tool and Context Engine into one coding workspace. Teams can give tasks shared project context, inspect sessions and review proposed code. Keep these parts under one Augment profile and bill.

Getting started: TechnicalSet up a project environment and its access rules. Check shared billing, tool permissions and proposed changes. Connecting repositories or automatic triggers needs a team member who understands the project. Our setup guide, not a performance score.

Good for

Software teams that want shared project context and a review trail across coding tasks. A solo developer can use the team plan, but still needs to check code, permissions and spending.

Start with

An account, a project environment, checked model and compute spending, and someone who can review code and tests. External tools, repository access and triggers need their own permissions. Enterprise budget controls do not establish a hard cap for every plan.

Cost

Standard is $20/month for the whole team, up to 50 seats, with $20 shared usage. Business is $100 with $100 shared usage. These are not per-user prices. Model calls add a 40% service fee; cloud compute is $0.19/hour in five-minute blocks. A general free plan or free-trial quota is unconfirmed.

Plans and limits explained

A shared team bill, plus usage.

Free access not confirmed
No current general ongoing Free plan or numeric free model allowance is confirmed. Try Cosmos does not establish free access, no-card signup or an included free balance. The current paid team plan is not a per-user price.
Trial not confirmed
No current general free-trial quota, card requirement or conversion is confirmed. Professional terms describe an order-specific trial with a three-month default unless the order differs. This does not establish a universal three-month free offer. Check the actual order before starting.
Paid plans
Standard is $20/month flat for up to 50 seats with $20 pooled usage; Business is $100/month flat for up to 50 seats with $100 pooled usage. Enterprise has quoted user pricing and annual volume terms. No full Standard/Business annual invoice is confirmed. Professional terms normally renew for the same term with thirty days written non-renewal notice unless the order differs. Current self-serve card and cancellation details remain unconfirmed.
Extra costs & limits
Model usage is provider API list price plus a 40% service fee; the fee does not apply to the base plan or compute. Cosmos compute is $0.19/hour, rounded up in five-minute blocks: seven minutes bills as ten. Model, fee and compute share one balance. Business continues automatically as pay as you go after the included $100, with no minimum top-up; it is not a hard cap. Standard continuation and monthly rollover are unconfirmed. Bought top-ups last 12 months. Enterprise quota controls do not establish a hard cap for all plans. Tax and external services can add costs.

Prices in USD unless noted. Check the billing period; local prices, taxes and offers can differ.

Plan details

The base monthly price covers up to 50 seats. It is not a monthly spending ceiling.

Free access and trialsCurrent allowance unconfirmed
Try Cosmos does not establish an ongoing Free plan, a numeric free-trial balance, a no-card offer or automatic conversion terms. Professional terms describe an order-specific trial with a three-month default unless the order differs. This is not a universal three-month free offer. Read the actual order before starting.
Standard$20 / month · whole team
Up to 50 seats with $20 pooled usage across the team. Model calls, their service fee and cloud compute spend the same balance. Extra usage is pay as you go. Automatic continuation details for Standard and monthly allowance rollover are unconfirmed.
Business$100 / month · whole team
Up to 50 seats with $100 pooled usage. The billing help says work continues automatically as pay as you go after this balance is spent, with no minimum top-up. Do not treat $100 as a hard monthly cap. Enterprise quotas can be enforced or advisory; those controls are not promised for Standard or Business.
Model and computer usageModel list price + 40% · compute $0.19/hour
The 40% service fee applies to model usage, not the base plan or cloud compute. Compute rounds up in five-minute blocks: seven minutes bills as ten. There is one shared dollar balance for all components. Bought top-ups last 12 months. A model key or subscription is not confirmed as a replacement for the current team bill.
Renewal, annual and EnterpriseCheck the chosen order
Published Professional terms renew for the same term unless the order differs, normally requiring thirty days’ written non-renewal notice. The new self-serve cancellation flow and card rules were not tested. Enterprise has quoted user pricing, custom limits and annual volume terms. No full Standard or Business annual invoice is confirmed. Community terms allow code/output training and differ from paid commercial terms; check which agreement applies.

USD before applicable tax. No signup, order, payment, repository connection or provider task was tested. My Club counts the shared workspace subscription once; extra model and computer use belongs in actual extra costs.

Try something small.

  • Explain a project using its shared context
  • Turn one issue into a small proposed change
  • Review a coding session before merging its work

Getting started.

Choose a project environment and read the billing offer. Start with a harmless sample and only the access it needs. Configure tool permissions for Cosmos or Auggie; these settings do not apply to the editor extension. Leave automatic triggers and private repository access for a later reviewed step.

Augment’s customer story describes Pearl Technologies using Cosmos with Azure DevOps webhooks, coding tasks, tests and GitHub pull requests for a transportation-management system. This is a provider-selected customer account, not our test or independent proof of its productivity figures. Harness announced acquiring selected assets, including Cosmos, Auggie CLI and Context Engine. Published terms still name Augment Computing, Inc.; check the billing entity on a new order.

Explain a sample before connecting a team.

Try this task
You’ll need
An Augment account, a harmless sample environment and reviewed billing and tool rules. Do not connect private repositories or turn on triggers for this first task.
A request to copy

Explain the purpose of this small sample project and suggest one question for its maintainer. Do not edit files, run commands, install packages, connect services, create a pull request or publish anything.

What to expect
A short explanation and one question to review.
How to check it is done
Compare the explanation with the files. Inspect tool activity and shared model and compute spending. Stop the sample environment using its current controls when finished.

Suggested first task, not our hands-on result. A prompt does not replace configured permissions. Cosmos/Auggie tool policies do not cover the editor extension.

Our suggested prompt, based on the linked source. We haven’t tested this task ourselves.

Published terms and privacy name Augment Computing, Inc. The 2 May 2024 SEC filing identifies Delaware incorporation and a Palo Alto principal office. Harness announced acquiring selected assets including Cosmos, Auggie CLI and Context Engine in October 2026, not every Augment company asset. A new order’s exact billing entity and the current headquarters were not verified. Registration is separate from data residency.
