Bolt.
Build a website by describing it.
Bolt turns a written brief into a website or app you can preview and change in your browser. Start with a small idea, then test each change. Hosting and connected services have their own limits.
Getting started: Some setupSign in, describe a small project and test the preview. Review code and data settings before connecting services or publishing. Our setup guide, not a performance score.
Good for
Adults who want to turn a website or small app idea into a prototype without starting from a blank code editor.
Start with
A Bolt account, a Chrome or Chromium browser and internet. The current terms require age 18 or your local age of majority if higher.
Cost
Free has 300,000 tokens/day and one million/month, with no card required. Pro starts at $25/month for ten million monthly tokens, or $216/year paid upfront. Extra tokens, hosting capacity and connected services can add costs.
Plans and limits explainedTokens to build, capacity to run.
- Free plan
- Ongoing Free: 300,000 tokens/day and one million/month. No card required. Daily allowances do not accumulate and free tokens do not roll over. Published sites retain Bolt branding.
- Free trial
- Free is an ongoing limited plan. A separate general paid-plan free trial was not confirmed.
- Paid plans
- USD entry Pro: $25/month or the confirmed $216 full annual invoice paid upfront. Annual allocation still arrives monthly. Teams start at $30/member/month or $324/member/year. Pro and Teams need a card and renew automatically until canceled before the renewal date.
- Extra costs & limits
- Paid tokens stay valid for two months with an active subscription. Eligible reloads do not expire; price depends on the plan. Hosting, domains, database capacity and connected services have separate limits or costs. Cancellation takes effect at billing-period end. Teams tokens are per member despite broader shared-capacity card wording.
Prices in USD unless noted. Check the billing period; local prices, taxes and offers can differ.
Plan details
USD list prices checked in the actual monthly and annual views. Free is ongoing limited access; a separate general paid-plan trial was not confirmed.
- Free$0 · no card
- 300,000 tokens per day and one million per calendar month. Daily use does not accumulate; free tokens do not roll over. Public and private projects, with Bolt branding on published sites.
- ProFrom $25 / month
- The entry tier has ten million tokens per month and no daily token cap. Or pay the confirmed $216 full annual invoice upfront, equivalent to $18/month. Annual token allocations still arrive monthly.
- Unused and extra tokensSeparate limits
- Paid monthly allocations stay valid for two months while a paid subscription stays active. Reload tokens do not expire. Reloads are available on annual Pro and the highest monthly Pro tier; their price depends on your plan.
- TeamsFrom $30 / member / month
- Current annual entry offer is $324 per member, paid upfront. The cards mention shared capacity, but the FAQ and token help say token allocations belong to each member. Do not assume a freely pooled token balance.
- Hosting and servicesUsage limits apply
- Building tokens and the capacity of your published app are different. A custom domain needs Pro. More traffic, database capacity, external AI and other connected services can add charges; check the actual hosting plan.
- RenewalAutomatic until canceled
- Pro and Teams accept credit or debit cards. Cancel before renewal; paid access lasts until the billing period ends, then Free. An annual downgrade can wait until the next annual renewal. Enterprise has a separate consumption contract.
The current price selector confirms $25 monthly and $216 annually for entry Pro. Some older solution copy says $20; use the current selector and confirm checkout. The service terms describe model-development data uses, regional exclusions and separate Forge conditions. Check your account’s data choices before supplying private project files.

Try something small.
- Make a portfolio with sample projects
- Build a simple reading-list app
- Adjust a page through chat and visual edits
Getting started.
Create an account and describe one small project. Start with sample content and check the token balance as you work. Test the preview before choosing to publish or connect a database, domain or other service.
Tokens measure the text and code the AI reads and writes, rather than finished apps. Larger projects use more per request. Check the preview and data settings; an app that looks finished can still contain mistakes. The free plan keeps Bolt branding on published sites.
Build a tiny reading-list preview.
Try this task
- You’ll need
- Eligible Bolt access and available tokens. Use sample books and keep the project unpublished.
- A request to copy
Build a small reading-list prototype using three made-up books. Show a title, author and read/unread switch. Use sample data only. Do not add accounts, payments, external services or publishing. Explain how I can test it.
- What to expect
- A preview with three books and working read/unread switches.
- How to check it is done
- Test all switches and reload. Check the token balance and make sure no accounts, payments or publishing were added.
Our untested starter suggestion based on Bolt’s guides. Every AI request can use tokens; results and cost are not guaranteed.

The current terms explicitly cover Bolt and name StackBlitz, Inc., with a San Francisco service and notice address. Company base is separate from availability and data residency.
